August, 2005 - Habitate for Humanity

Employees from the Department of Juvenile Services and Public Safety joined members of the American Correctional Association in rehabing homes for low income home owenrs. The project was part of events held during the ACA conference earlier this month. Teams from all groups joined Habitat for Humanity, Sandtown-Winchester to refurbish old homes for potential home owners. The goal of Habitat is to provide low-income residents a chance to own a home through "sweat" equity.
