The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services' Quality Improvement Unit conducts performance reviews to systematically assess conditions and services in the Department's residential facilities. These Quality Improvement Reviews support the Department's goals and initiatives for accountability, transparency, and excellence.
DJS completes Quality Improvement Reviews in all of our facilities annually. Each quality improvement report identifies issues in a facility at one point in time. DJS' Quality Improvement Unit, through these reports, provides extensive information about each facility's strengths and operational needs, assigns a rating, and provides written recommendations for improvement where indicated. DJS disseminates the results of its Quality Improvement Reviews to help inform our staff and external stakeholders of the status of performance in our juvenile facilities.
To assist understanding of the findings in our quality improvement reports, we recommend that readers review the following information.
