Cheltenham Youth Facility

P. O. Box 160
11001 Frank Tippett Road
Cheltenham, MD 20623
301 396-5000

Located in Prince George's County, the Cheltenham Youth Facility serves youth awaiting trial or court disposition from Anne Arundel, Prince George's, Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's counties. The Murphy Shelter Program, which is also located on the grounds, houses twenty delinquent youth in need of court ordered supervision but have not been deemed dangerous to themselves or to others.

The Department of Juvenile Services has been successful in keeping the detention population at Cheltenham below 100 youth. In fact, this figure represents the lowest population rate for the facility in more than two years.

For information regarding the Cheltenham Youth Facility, contact William Wilson, Superintendent, at 301 396-4352 or wilsonw@djs.state.md.us.
