The Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center (BCJJC) provides centralized intake, assessment, court, detention services, and 144 beds for delinquent youth requiring detention. The detention center has educational and medical services as well as a full-size gym.

Opened in 2003, the 244,000 square-foot facility houses the Circuit Court for Baltimore City's Juvenile Court as well as offices for the Baltimore State's Attorney and Public Defenders, hearing rooms for juvenile masters, a booking facility for the Baltimore City Police Department, offices for DJS Area I staff, and Baltimore City Social Services. A combined intergovernmental workforce of 800 employees work there.

A Community and Family Resource Center has been established at the Justice Center which will bring together youth, families, community-based advocacy organizations, and DJS staff.
